Maggi In Disguise

Talk about happy days or sad ones, a rainy day or a cold winter morning, a breezy summer evening or a starry night all of us resort to our comfort foods to get us going. Talking about comfort food, maggi makes it to the top of almost everybody’s comfort food list. Though maggi tastes as delectable as it did the first time we ate it, styling it with different foods adds to our already delicious maggi. So we bring to you different recipes that will make you fall in love with that bowl of maggi all over again.

Maggi Fries
Ingredients: 

  •  1 pack of Maggie
  •  Frozen fries
  •  Olive oil
  •  Mayonnaise
  •  Chillies
  •  Salt
  •  Oregano
  •  Butter

Process:

  • Heat oil in a frying pan and put the frozen fries one by one in the oil so they don’t clump. Fry until golden brown so that it turns out to be crispy. Remove and drain the excess oil on kitchen tissue paper.
  •  In the same oil, crush maggi and fry for a minute (don’t fry for more than one minute to avoid over frying). Remove and drain the excess oil.
  • Take another pan, put half spoon of olive oil and butter. Add fresh chillies, fries, mayonnise, tastemaker and salt respectively and mix well for 1 minute.
  • Take it out in a bowl and lastly add fried maggi and oregano to complete the dish. Mix it well and maggi fries is ready to land in your mouth.

Here, fried maggi will add the perfect crunch to hot and soft mayonnise fries. One can make this anytime because who requires a reason to have maggi?

Shredded Chicken Maggi
Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of maggi
  • Half cup boiled shredded chicken
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Finely chopped 2 green chillies and red chilli flakes
  • Soya sauce

Process:

  •  Boil one and half glass of water in a pan, add maggi and tastemaker. Simmer till the maggie is cooked.
  •  In a pan take half spoon of olive oil, add green chillies, shredded boiled chicken, soya sauce and salt respectively.
  • Mix well all the ingredients and cook for three minutes. Add it to the cooked maggi.
  • Mix it well and serve immediately.

One can add boiled eggs or saute vegetables too.

Maggi Balls in Cheese Sauce
Ingredients:

  • 2 packs of maggi
  • Half cup finely chopped onions
  • 2 finely chopped green chillies
  • Ginger- garlic paste
  • Salt
  • Grated cheese and mayonnise
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 spoons all purpose flour
  • Black pepper powder
  • Olive oil
  • Butter
  • 3 teaspoon cornstarch

Process:

  • Cook maggi dry without adding tastemaker (drain the excess water to make less soupy)
  • In a pan, add one teaspoon of olive oil and butter.
  • Add ginger garlic paste, chillies and onions respectively.
  • Wait till the onions are caramalised.
  •  Add cooked maggi, maggi tastemaker and cornstarch to the mixture and mix it well for 1 minute.
  • Remove the mixture in a bowl.
  • Make round shaped balls of this mixture
  • In a skillet, shallow fry the maggi balls and drain the excess oil with the help of tissue paper
  • Take another pan and add 2 teaspoon of olive oil, all purpose flour and milk, whisk it so that no clumps are formed. Simmer untill sightly thickened
  • While stirring, add one cup of mozzarella and one cup of cheddar cheese. Add pepper and salt to taste.
  • Whisk till the cheese melts and gains a nice thick consistency. Cheese sauce is ready
  • Add the balls to the cheese sauce and mix it well.

Voila! Finger licking maggie balls and cheese sauce is ready.

Maggi Tikki’s

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack maggi
  • Olive oil

Process:

  • Boil one and half glass of water in a pan, add maggi and tastemaker. Simmer till the maggie is cooked. (make sure the maggi is dry and not soupy, one can simply drain the excess water)
  • Make tikkis of maggi
  • In a pan add two teaspoons of oil, shallow fry the tikkis till crispy.

 

Maggi tikki is ready. Serve immediately with some tasty dips or tomato ketchup.

Maggi Waffles
Ingredients:

  • 1 pack maggi
  •  Waffle maker
  •  Oregano
  •  Chilli flakes
  • cheese

Process:

  • Boil one and half glass of water in a pan, add maggi and tastemaker. Simmer till the maggi is cooked.  (make sure the maggi is dry and not soupy, one can simply drain the excess water)
  • In a waffle maker, brush oil and put the maggi  in the waffle maker and cook for few minutes.
  • As done, take maggi waffle and sprinkle some oregano and chilli flakes.
  • Grate cheese on the maggi waffle
  • Serve with salsa, dip or tomato ketchup
